Jeff and Grace

Welcome to our farm.  We are your Farmers.  Jeff and Grace.  We bought our property in November 2020 after both dreaming for years of living in the country and being involved in a small farm.  We maintain a 4 acre property with an old farm house.  Both the home and the property needed a lot of work, and it is an ever changing adventure and learning experience to make this place our own.  We also had a vision that we want this place to grow food that is great tasting and grown with integrity and responsibility.  We see the need for transparency in how your food is grown and raised.  We love that we are learning and you are learning too how food gets to your plate.  We have chickens that we raise for eggs (all the pretty colours), cows that we harvest at our local butcher, beautiful flowers, honey and a large assortment of vegetables.

Jeff grew up in the farming community in Chatham-Kent and first helped his parents with their our small farm that had chickens, geese, goats, gardens and a beautiful fruit orchard.  He also worked on different farms in the area, from large industrial operations to small organic farms.  He loves to work outdoors, he has this knack for animals and his skills set around the home renos is priceless (literally the costs of many contractors).  We are grateful he is here.

Grace grew up in a small town outside of London and went to small country schools surrounded by farmers.  She remembers distinctly one of her 4H trips to a sheep farm, in the barn with the baby lambs and just thinking she loved every part of this.  While Grace's learning curve is a hockey stick curve she tried hard to keep up with Jeff and they work together to make this dream of theirs happen.  Her full-time gig is putting solar panels on people's businesses and homes.

We want to interact with their customers, see what our customers make with the food grown at Grayhurst Farm.  We also partner with other Farmers in the area that share the same mindset.  We may not do farming the same (trust us there are many ways to grow food) but we do believe in the value of community and locally grown food.  We are a pesticide-free farm and while not defined as organic we are trying our best to ensure we stewards of this land and are providing food that is trusted by our customers.  We believe in transparency and explaining why we choose to grow or raise something a certain way, while learning constantly ourselves.
