I, Grace, decided I wanted to journal more in 2024. I dabble in it in a notebook and usually get 2-3 journal entries a week but as we are trying to create more content in 2024 and grow this farm business I thought what a great opportunity to practice via blog posts. Both to document what is going on at the farm, in our lives but also document the progress...because sometimes it is slow.
Jeff and I have been here for 3 years now. We bought the place in November 2020 with a blessing interest rate and have been hacking away at project after project. Today we are both off from work and Jeff is working away on a gutted kitchen that we've been living with for about 8 months (we gutted it months ago). I'm working on computer stuff, 2024 goals, action items and trying to schedule a very busy year ahead of us.
Two weeks ago we went to a local winery/cidery, Shale Ridge, and brain dumped everything we think will work to get us to an income that is sustainable for us. Jeff used to work in concrete forming, through a union so our goal is to get the income back to what he was making before through a variety of things on the farm.
We have general goals and working towards specific goals as we do our research, narrow down options and really put things into actions. But to give you an idea of what we are looking forward to for 2024:
- attend pop-up artisan markets
- host events (Private and Public) on the farm
- Flowers as a service - we can do your bridal and event flowers (DIY brides this is a great budget friendly option)
- More produce options - frozen foods, canned goods (including more of Jeff's famous pickles), home remedies
- More honey!!
- Road-side stand with expanded products
Lots of things to come out in 2024! Plus we have a kitchen as a reno project this winter!
There...I survived my first blog post.

Hi we are the previous owners of Grace Inn B&B. We visited you last October when we home for thanksgiving. We currently live in BC. I would love to send you some pictures of the house back in 2001-2012. Congratulations again on buying and restoring this beautiful property
